Republican vice presidential candidate, Senator J.D. Vance was doing his rounds on the Sunday morning political shows, when he made an interesting admission. And yes, it’s about his and Donald Trump’s baseless claim that Haitian immigrants are eating pets in Springfield, Ohio.
Vance said that the “American media” ignored Springfield, “until Donald Trump and I started surfacing some of these concerns.”
Bash, referencing her notes, starts to fact check some of the senator’s claims. She tells him, “The Clark County Sheriff and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources reviewed 11 months of 911 calls. They only identified two instances of people alleging Haitians were taking geese out of parks. They found zero evidence to substantiate those claims.”
After minutes of back-and-forth, and Vance suggesting Bash is a “democratic propagandist,” she asks him to, “once and for all…affirmatively now say that that is a rumor that has no basis with evidence?”
